Rod looks and colorways

Every rod you unlock on the rod tree adds its model to your looks for good, and you can wear any of them. Looks and colorways only change how your rod appears: its stats, reach and tuning come from the upgrades you have unlocked. Other captains see the look and colorway you wear.

Looks are chosen at the effects stand in the Rod Workshop’s front corner, or anywhere from the rod list in your log (WEAR). Take out your rod and hold your rod hand over the cup of the upright holder beside the stand for a moment: your rod stands in the holder, and you grip it there to take it back. Everything you pick on the stand shows on that rod right away.

The stand has two tabs. LOOKS lists the looks you own: pick one to preview it on the rod in the holder, then WEAR THIS LOOK to keep it. EFFECTS lists the colorways, tints and glows that go over a look. Pick one to try it on, then EQUIP it if you own it. Buying takes two steps on purpose: BUY opens a review of exactly what you get and the price, and CONFIRM sits at the other end of the row, so one press can never spend anything.

Each look keeps its own colorway, so you can set up several looks and switch between them. Every colorway fits every look. Colorways come from coins, Crowns, the Captain’s Pass and a secret; the table below says where each one comes from. The higher rods also have their own built-in effects, such as glows, sparks and lightning, which come with the look.
