Thick and muscular, this moray’s deep teal body is netted with a bold lime-gold honeycomb, and a row of glowing lantern spots runs down each flank. A ribbon crest with a glowing rim tops its back, heavy brows shade fierce gold eyes, and its gape is full of fangs. It lurks in the Rainbow Reef, where fins cutting the water give it away, and hooked it bolts for the deep.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for fins cutting the surface: they mark a hotspot where Reef Moray and its kind bite more often.
- The weather doesn’t change how often it bites.
- When it fights back it mostly dives. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
