The signature catch of the Rainbow Reef wears a split beam of light: slanted bands run the full spectrum from head to tail, each divided by a thin glowing white line and scaled with bright metallic rims. Its face is pearly mother-of-pearl with thick pink lips, its long low dorsal carries the same spectrum, and its lyre tail ends in streamer tips. Look for a crystal sparkle on the water, especially in fog, and expect a slim, quick fish that surges on the line.

  • Look for sparkles on the surface: they mark a hotspot where Prism Wrasse and its kind bite more often.
  • It bites more in fog.
  • When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.

A Prism Wrasse can hatch from a Rare Coral Egg. As a pet its perk is Scholar. See Pets and Eggs.
