A chunky reef bruiser with a big turquoise-ivory parrot beak, this parrotfish is banded in hot pink, sun yellow and reef teal, each band made of large outlined scales split by thin glowing seams. Teal war-paint stripes sweep back from its beak, and its lyre tail is striped in all three colours. It grazes the Sapphire Lagoon, stirring up surface boils, and pulls with heavy, stubborn weight on the line.

  • Look for ripples on the water: they mark a hotspot where Rainbow Parrotfish and its kind bite more often.
  • It bites more in rain.
  • When it fights back it mostly dives. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.

A Rainbow Parrotfish can hatch from a Rare Coral Egg. As a pet its perk is Glutton. See Pets and Eggs.
