Kelpwood

A green-gold, dappled water where kelp sways below the surface and kelp rafts float on top, loud with seabirds and the creak of kelp. Its islands, the Kelp Garden Isles and Pelican Rocks, are dark mossy slate with kelp heaped on the beaches, and a tall sea stack capped white by seabirds stands among kelp towers that rise out of the sea like trees. Pelicans dive together, sea otters float on their backs, and the Pelican Feast is its water event. Its fish are a step up from the harbor’s: snappers, perch, the Stormfin, puffers and crabs, with the leafy Kelp Lurker, a fish you can barely see, as its signature.
