Deep indigo diamond wings are cut into faceted crystal plates by glowing cyan seams, and a ridge of living crystal shards runs down the spine to a crystal barb on the whip tail. This ray glides over the Fan Shoals, where fins cutting the water mark its hotspots. Hooked, it makes long runs for the deep, so be ready to give it line when it dives.

  • Look for fins cutting the surface: they mark a hotspot where Shard Ray and its kind bite more often.
  • The weather doesn’t change how often it bites.
  • When it fights back it mostly dives. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.

A Shard Ray can hatch from a Rare Coral Egg. As a pet its perk is Sniffer. See Pets and Eggs.
