Some fish find a shell; this one moved into an old green glass bottle. The Bottle Hermit is a grumpy little flame-orange fish that pokes its spiky-crested head out of the neck with its fins braced on the lip like elbows, its curled body glowing faintly through the barnacled, sea-worn glass. It is the signature catch of the Wreck Waters, where trails of bubbles mark its hotspots. The bottle is part of the fish, so you land the hermit and its home together, and it darts about faster than anything living in a bottle should.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for rising bubbles: they mark a hotspot where Bottle Hermit and its kind bite more often.
- The weather doesn’t change how often it bites.
- When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
