Spectral mint bones glow through the slate skin of the Phantom Angler like an x-ray, from its skull ridges down its spine and ribs. It hangs a blazing lantern lure on a long arched stalk in front of a huge upturned jaw of needle fangs, and its tattered spirit fins trail wisps as it swims. It haunts the Whisperdeep Abyss, where glowing water marks its hotspots and fog brings it out. One of the region’s legendary catches, it surges hard to the side when hooked.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for a glow under the water: they mark a hotspot where Phantom Angler and its kind bite more often.
- It bites more in fog.
- It bites only inside an island’s ring, never out in the open sea.
- When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
