This wide, flat crab is made of knapped black volcanic glass, with a violet sheen on its faceted plates and glowing lava cracks running between them. A crown of jagged obsidian shards juts from its back, and both heavy crusher claws end in molten tips. The Obsidian Crab lurks deep in the Darkwater Trench, betrayed by trails of bubbles rising from below. Expect a slow, stubborn fight as it clamps down and drags toward the bottom.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for rising bubbles: they mark a hotspot where Obsidian Crab and its kind bite more often.
- The weather doesn’t change how often it bites.
- When it fights back it mostly dives. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
