Forked lightning crackles across the storm-blue flanks of the Storm Piranha, and a fiery red-orange throat sits under its jutting row of serrated teeth. It lives in the Thunder Straits, where seabirds diving at the surface often give its hotspot away. Rain helps, but a full storm is when it bites best. On the line it darts from side to side in quick, snappy bursts.

How to catch it

- It bites more in storms.
- When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
