The signature catch of the Thunder Straits, the Sparkjaw is a gar built like a charged rod. Its long gunmetal body is armoured in domed diamond plates, and its needle-toothed beak crackles with live static, forked cyan arcs running down both jaws to a white-hot tip. Lightning striking one spot on the water marks its hotspots, and storms bring it out. Hooked, it darts from side to side in sharp, fast runs.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for crackling lightning: they mark a hotspot where Sparkjaw and its kind bite more often.
- It bites more in storms.
- When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
