A towering sunburst sail rises from this golden marlin’s back, burning from ember orange at the root through blazing gold to a white-hot rim, with glowing rays like a rising sun. A molten-bronze back, glowing tiger bars, a long spear bill with a white-hot tip and a tall crescent tail make it the showpiece of the Fan Shoals. Fins cutting the water mark where it hunts, and once hooked it makes long, deep runs.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for fins cutting the surface: they mark a hotspot where Sunburst Marlin and its kind bite more often.
- The weather doesn’t change how often it bites.
- It bites only inside an island’s ring, never out in the open sea.
- When it fights back it mostly dives. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
