Feathery white frost ferns grow across the glassy skin and huge fan fins of the Frostfin, glowing a cold cyan at their tips. This pale glacier-blue icefish has a long, flat duck-bill snout, big eyes set high on its head and a broad fan tail with a frozen white rim. It is the signature catch of the Frost Shelf, where surface boils mark its hotspots, and rain brings more of them up. Once hooked, it makes long, deep runs.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for ripples on the water: they mark a hotspot where Frostfin and its kind bite more often.
- It bites more in rain.
- When it fights back it mostly dives. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
