The signature fish of the Sapphire Lagoon is a silver sharpshooter: a deep, flat-sided fish with a dead-straight back, bold black wedge bars and black-and-lemon rear fins. Its huge forward-set eyes glow aqua and aim up at the surface over a big upturned mouth held a little open, ready to spit. Lean in close while one sits at the surface and it may fire a jet of water your way, and it keeps taking shots even in your hand. Surface boils mark its hotspots, and it darts quickly on the line.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for ripples on the water: they mark a hotspot where Archerfish and its kind bite more often.
- It bites more in rain.
- When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
