A blazing sunburst covers this tall, flat-sided tang, with orange rays fanning back across a sun-yellow body from a bright halo behind the eye. Its tall dorsal and anal fins are edged in blue, and a white scalpel spine sits in a royal-blue sheath on each side of the tail. Diving seabirds mark where it feeds on the Rainbow Reef, and it darts quickly from side to side on the line.

  • Look for diving seabirds: they mark a hotspot where Sunstrike Tang and its kind bite more often.
  • It bites more in rain.
  • When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.

A Sunstrike Tang can hatch from a Common Coral Egg or a Uncommon Coral Egg. As a pet its perk is Spotter. See Pets and Eggs.
