A mane of long venomous spines tipped in violet crowns this red-orange fish, and huge striped fan pectorals spread from its sides like wings. Bold cream war stripes slant across its body, with fleshy tentacles over its brows and a big upturned mouth. It hunts among the coral heads of the Rainbow Reef, its feeding sends up surface boils, and it surges hard once hooked.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for ripples on the water: they mark a hotspot where Lionfin and its kind bite more often.
- It bites more in rain.
- When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
As a pet
Section titled “As a pet”A Lionfin can hatch from a Common Coral Egg or a Uncommon Coral Egg. As a pet its perk is Lucky. See Pets and Eggs.
