Stocky and ash-mauve, the Ash Squid is dusted with glowing ember specks, and its round rear fins smoulder like burning paper, charred at the rims with a hot glowing edge. The curled tips of its arms glow like coals. It drifts through the grey haze of the Ashen Sea, where warm vents steaming on the surface mark its hotspots. When hooked, it surges away to the side rather than diving.

How to catch it
Section titled “How to catch it”- Look for steam over the water: they mark a hotspot where Ash Squid and its kind bite more often.
- The weather doesn’t change how often it bites.
- When it fights back it mostly runs to the side. Slow your reeling down without stopping, then reel it in while it rests.
