The harbor
The harbor is Reel’s home port and its town. You arrive here every time you join a lobby, and almost everything you buy, upgrade or open is done here, in person, at physical stations rather than in a menu. Nearly everything stands in the central town, a short walk from the plaza; the Stables sit by the water.
The plaza
Section titled “The plaza”You arrive on the round Arrival Plaza, with its compass rose in the paving. Around it stand:
- The harbor map board, a small roofed kiosk just north of where you arrive. It opens your chart of the waters, and it sells the Spyglass.
- The requests board, right by the arrival spot. It lists today’s three Harbor Requests: fish the harbor wants, the same for every captain. Feed one of them to your pet at the Egg House for extra pet experience.
- The record board. Its pages turn by themselves through the biggest fish, radiant catches, boss wins and this week’s best, showing the top captains everywhere next to today’s best in your room.
- The lobby station, a ship’s wheelhouse console. Type a lobby code to join friends, join a public lobby, or set the name shown over your head. See Lobbies and voice.
- The Crown mound, a heap of treasure sand with a chest on top, where you buy Crown packs. See Crowns and the store.
- The Summoning Stone, on the west side. Bring sigil fragments from a region and it forges a Boss Sigil; stand in its circle and summon, and that region’s boss rises at its lair for everyone to sail out and fight. See Bosses.
- The Treasure Dock, a plank stage east of the plaza. Chests are opened here, each with a key of its own tier. Let go of a chest you’re carrying on the dock to open it, or touch the pedestal to pick one from your treasure. Big openings put on a show other captains can watch. See Treasure.
The Rod Workshop
Section titled “The Rod Workshop”On the north side of the plaza. You own one rod, and this is where it grows.
- The racks show every rod with a tag saying where it stands for you: one to buy at the tree, one that needs an earlier rod first, or one you’ve unlocked. Pulling a tag picks that rod on the tree table. The racks don’t sell anything themselves.
- The tree table is where you buy rod upgrades, browsing the rod tree and paying with coins or Crowns. Pick a card, press BUY, then CONFIRM. Switching back to a setup you already own is free.
- The rod effects stand, in the front corner. Set the rod in your hand into its upright holder, then try on any rod look you own and the colorways for it. See Rod looks and colorways.
The Lobby House and the tuning bench
Section titled “The Lobby House and the tuning bench”West of the plaza, the Lobby House holds the rod-tuning bench. Set your rod into the stand at the bench’s right, then pull one of the three levers twice: once to see the cost, again to tune. The levers tune your rod’s control, reel speed or drag, one at a time, for coins and gems from your rod’s region. The tuning stays with your rod while you switch between setups from the same region; moving to a setup from another region refunds it.
The Bait Shop
Section titled “The Bait Shop”West of the plaza. Its shelves sell bait and lures and the Compass. Inspect an item and pull its price tag to buy it.
The Hat Shop
Section titled “The Hat Shop”East of the plaza. Hats stand on displays around the room. Instead of single mirrors there’s one wide group mirror, so trying on hats is something to do with friends. At the hat stand, a lectern with a bust, you try hats on the bust and on your own head in the mirror, then buy and wear them. See Cosmetics.
The Egg House
Section titled “The Egg House”East of the plaza, the place for eggs and pets.
- Eggs for sale: Common, Uncommon and Rare eggs, with fresh offers every day. They cost coins plus gems. Higher-tier eggs can’t be bought, only earned.
- The egg opener stands in the middle of the room. Let go of an egg on it and it opens straight away to reveal your new pet. Chalkboards show what each egg can hatch.
- The pet stand sells pet accessories. Walk up and your pets come over; your active pet hops onto the pedestal to try them on.
- The pet slot stand has a glowing nest for each pet slot. Open extra slots here so more pets follow you.
- Harbor Requests: feed a requested fish to your pet near the egg counter for double pet experience.
The Trading Post
Section titled “The Trading Post”A raised pavilion east of the town, with a low trade table in the middle. This is the only place to trade, and only pets can be traded. See Trading.
The Stables
Section titled “The Stables”A boathouse by the water, south-east of the town. You own one boat, and this is where it grows.
- The tree table is where you buy boat upgrades on the boat tree, for coins only. Every upgrade adds to your boat for good, and every one also unlocks a boat skin.
- The effects stand dresses your boat. Your land-pet boat hops onto its platform to show off every boat skin, saddle, reins, boat look and wake you own. Wearing any of them is free and never changes what your boat can do.
- The berths show the boat skins, each with a card saying how to get it: from the boat tree, from treasure chests, or from the store. The three store skins are bought for Crowns here.
- The tack stands show the saddle and reins looks. See Saddles and reins.
Around the harbor
Section titled “Around the harbor”- The lighthouse stands on Lighthouse Hill, up a trail from the east end of the quay. It sweeps its beams over the sea at night, and it’s worth climbing.
- The waterfall falls from a pond on the north-east hill, down a cascade and a tall drop into a pool at the foot of the cliff.
- The piers and launch spots are where you carry your boat to the water and toss it in to set sail. See Boats and riding.
